Everest region has always been dominated by one of Nepal’s ethnic group called Sherpa. Everest base camp via cho la pass is one of the most coveted trekking trails found in Nepal. This trail gives you the feeling of travelling back through time where you can see people still living in primitive way even in the age of 21st century. It’s pretty cool and amazing to find out the lives of these Sherpa community ironically who still are gone unnoticed by the government.

Like all other treks in Everest region this one also starts with a short flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. From the lush, thick and green forest of Lukla to the high alpine climate, the variation of altitudes within short distance, the cultural diversity, geographical diversity and bio-diversity are all the ingredients that makes this trail enchanting. The sheer beauty in wilderness with some of world highest peaks is like icing on the cake. You will go to some of the pretty amazing places like Namche bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, lobuche, Gorakshep, cho la pass, Gokyo lakes and all the way to the point where we start out trek. The owners and the staffs of the lodges are very much hospitable and will leave no stone unturned to please you.

Cho La Pass Everest Base Camp Trek follows next to the Mt Everest trail of Gokyo Lake Valley then other rest of hiking journey includes regular base camp way. The entire trek leads through the heartland of the Sherpa people who are the original inhalant of the highland.  Cho La Pass Everest Base Camp Trek passes numerous picturesque typical Sherpa villages and many colorful gompas.  Gokyo Cho La Pass Everest Base camp trekking is also known as Everest Circuit trek, thus it is one of the most famous and adventurous treks in the Everest region. Cho La Pass Everest Base Camp Trek will take you to climb up one of the best panoramic view point GokyoRi atop (5350m).

The first day of the Cho La Pass Everest Base Camp trek starts 35 minute a short mountain flight to Lukla then follows to NamcheBazzar through by crossing Dudhkoshi (milky) River valley. It follows the route via high pass of Cho La Pass at 5330meters into the Base Camp of Mount Everest. Along the way of Cho La Pass Everest Base Camp trek you will be passing grazing settlement of Yak to reach the Gokyo lakes and we climb the GokyoRi peak for the Panoramic views. You will get an opportunity observe the stunning scenery of Mt. Everest, Makalu and Cho Oyo (8021m) Mt Everest  8848 m and many more other surrounding peaks. After the pass you will drop to the other side of Khumbu valley which take you to explore from Kalapatthar (5545m) ascent and probably the best views of Mt Everest.

Day 01 Arrival in Kathmandu, Nepal

Our staff will meet you at the airport and help you out with your luggage. They will transfer you to one of the deluxe hotels of Kathmandu. You can take a nap, be refreshed. You can take a walk in the streets.

Day 02 Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding(2610m)

It’s your first day of the trek. You will fly over to lukla and trek for about 2-3 hours through the dense green forest. Our guide will manage a lodge. You spend the the night at the lodge.

Day 03 Phakding to Namche Bazar(3440m)

Day 3 will be mixture of uphill and downhill going through the suspension bridge many times, hung up over the river Dudh Koshi. You will have to trek about 5-6 hours. After you reach Namche Bazar you have to stay overnight at lodge.

Day 04 Acclamitzation in Namche Bazar

Before you continue your body should get used to with low oxygen level. Over the next 24hours as you get acclimatize, you can go through this tiny town perhaps you can visit Hillary school and khumjung monastery. Probably you can get a brief insight of Buddhism.

Day 05 Namche Bazar to Tengboche(3860m)

Day 5 will be relatively easier day for you as we just ascend for about 400m. Upon reaching Tengboche you can see the biggest monastery of this region. You will be spending the night at the lodge. Its 5-6 hours trek.

Day 06 Tengboche to Dingboche(4410m)

We begin after having a healthy breakfast uphill towards Dingbopche alongside Imja river crossing it at some of the points. The panoramic view of Mt.everest Lhotse and many others will just make your day. Our guide will manage a room in a lodge where you will be spending your night.

Day 07 Dingboche to Chhukung(4730m)

On day 7 you keep walking beside Imja river before you reach lobuche. Now you really start feeling the drop in the oxygen level. Its basically 6-7 hours of trek. Overnight at lodge.

Day 08 Chukkung to Dingboche(4410m)

Day 08 will be just the reversal trek of day 7. You will take back the same trial all the way back to Dingboche. You will stay at the lodge for the rest of night.

Day 09 Dingboche to Lobuche(4910m)

Today you trek for 6-7 hours. You feel the mountain staring right at you. Our Crew member will arrange an overnight stay in a lodge.

Day 10 Lobuche to Gorakshep(5140m)

Today you trek alongside the moraine of khumbu glacier. You can see the crest of north ridge of Everest along with many others mountains.Overnight at lodge.

Day 11 Gorakshep to Everest Base Camp(EBC 5364m) to Kalapater(5545) to Lobuche

On 11th day it’s going to take a little longer than previous days. First you go EBC take some photos and the highest point of trek kalapater. You will spend the night in the lodge, probably the highest lodge in the world.

Day 12 Lobuce to Dzongla(4830m)

Today we trek downhill alongside khumbu glacier. Along the trail we can see Some of the tombstones and stupa. You spend the night at the lodge.

Day 13 Dzongla via Cho la Pass(5330m) to Thangkak(4700m)

On this day you trek about 7-8 hours when you go through Cho la pass. You Can also see Cho lake as you go through pass before coming to Thangkak You will spend the night at lodge.

Day 14 Thangkak to Gokyo lake(4700)

This day will be the most thrilling one. When you reach the Gokyo lakes you can see the concentration of high altitudes lakes with an average depth of 40m all around. Do a little bit a photo session and then you head back to lodge where you will be spending your night.

Day15 Exploration at the Gokyo lakes(4700-5000m)

Today you can explore all the majesty and mystics of the lakes. Highly pure and good to drink water, which remains frozen for most of the part of the year. You get back to the lodge and get yourself wrapped up in the blanket for a sleep.

Day 16 Gokyo lake to Machhermo(4470m)

Today you hike downhill to Machhermo for about 5-6 hours. You must feel the freshness after the exploration at the lakes a day earlier. Overnight at the lodge.

Day 17 Machhermo to Mongdanda(3800m)

It will be a 5-6 hours of trek almost nearing the end of this marvelous journey. You can start seeing a little bit of forest and vegetation. You stay overnight at the lodge.

Day 18 Mongdanda to Khumjung(3730m)

It will relatively be easier to trek because you almost feel like walking on the plains with some rare uphill and downhill. Overnight at lodge.

Day 19 Khumjung to Namche bazaar

You are closing nearer to the end of the trek with some familiar terrain and villages. This little town with all its glory will mesmerize you. Our staff member will arrange a nice little lodge where you will spend the night.

Day 20 Namche Bazar to Lukla(2840m)

It’s time to say goodbye to your adventurous journey. Perhaps the last time to see the majestic mountains before you head back to your normal life. By now you will pretty much feel more energized than ever. It’s a farewell day of the trek with a little celebration in Lukla.

Day 21 Lukla to Kathmandu(1300m)

Day 21 is the end of your trek and the last time to say goodbye to the Himalayas until next time. Our staff will be waiting you at the airport to get you back to the hotel. You are free for the rest of the day. You can go for the shopping and hang out in the coolest bars of Thamel to celebrate your successful trek.
