Jomsom Muktinath ABC (Annapurna Base Camp) trail falls under Annapurna and Mustang region. This trek can be categorized in moderate one as you will not be facing high altitude and the trail is relatively moderate one. The highest point of the trek is Annapurna Base Camp(4130m) and the lowest one will be Nayapool(1070m). Your trek will start from Jomsom and will end in Nayapool. Your entire walking days will be 15days where 2 days would be accounted for half day walk.

Since the time immemorial Muktinath has always been a focal point for Hindus and Buddhists. This place of historical and religious importance has always attracted thousands of devotees and trekkers but with a different approach. For the Hindu followers this place is the abode of “Shakti” the power and according to Hindu mythology it is believed that it was in this place that one of the falling body parts of the corpse of Sati Devi fell here while Lord Shiva was wandering carrying her dead body. As a result of that this temple came into existence. As you will see many of the Hindu devotees taking holy bath in108 tap waters after offering their prayer to the Goddess of Power. This religious place also have an equal significance for Buddhists.

ABC (Annapurna Base Camp)or also known as Annapurna Sanctuary is also most decorated point of this trail. The oval shaped valley offers a 360 degree view of Mountains and valleys.   Annapurna I-IV, Nilgiri, Machhepuchhre and Dhaulagiri and many others can be seen from the Annapurna Base camp in all its majesty. The incredible landscapes, subtropical forest, diverse culture and religion will be your constant companion during your entire trek. The most hospitable people of Nepal are found in this region where the ethnic people like Magars and Gurungs dominates the region. Muktinath is a very sacred place for Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimages. You can witness the mix of culture, religion, tradition with picturesque beauty of nature. The natural hot spring of Muktinath is another attraction in which there’s a popular belief that bathing in it will get rid of one’s sins and diseases.  After climbing onto  Muktinath,  you head down to the dry valley of Jomsom  which is a gateway to the sacred kingdom of Mustang. You can experience the blend of Tibetan and other ethnic group culture.

You can reach the height of 4130 m, the highest point of this trek at Annapurna Base Camp. The famous destination such as Ghandruk and Poonhill are the added attraction of this trek.

Day 01 Arrival in Kathmandu (1350m)

One of our assistant will be waiting for you at the airport and will drop you off in the hotel to spend your first night. Your guide will meet you in the evening to brief you about your trek.

Day 02 Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (850m)

After your breakfast you have to pack your bags and get ready to roll. It will be a 5-6 hours of drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. On arriving Pokhara you will be arranged a hotel to spend the night.

Day 03 Fly from Pokhara to Jomsom(2715m) and trek to Kagbeni(2810m)

After a night stay in Pokhara, you will be heading straight to the airport to catch an early flight to Jomsom. Once you get done in jomsom you will embark your trek right from the airport towards Kagbeni. You will be spending the first night of the trek in Kagbeni.

Day 04 Kagbeni to Muktinath(3700m)

For the fisrt few hours the trail ascends slowly with couple of hundred metros of steep slope. While walking along the trail you may notice beautiful landscapes, old Tibetan style village, caves and probably herds of yaks and sheeps. As you ascend higher you can see the Thorang la valley all the way to Muktinath. On your arrival in Muktinath your guide will guide to a small lodge to spend the night.

Day 05 Muktinath to Marpha(2610m)

Today will be easier day to walk because most of the trail will be downhill and flat. After 5-6 hours of trek you will be there at Marpha to spend your 5th night.

Day 06 Marpha to Ghasa(2610m)

On your day six it will be the similar kind of walk which is going downhill towards Ghasa. You will further descend about 600m until you reach Marpha. Overnight at lodge.

Day 07 Ghasa to Tatopani (1190m)

Today you will see the deepest gorge “The kali Gandaki Gorge” as you walk towards Tatopni. Today the trail will be mixture of uphill and downhill majority part of the trail will be downhill. Overnight at lodge.

Day 08 Tatopani to Ghorepani(2800m)

Today your trail will begin going through the traditinla village Sikha and Ghorpani. After crossing the suspension bridge you will ascend steeply walking on stone steps all the way to Ghorepani where you will spend the night.

Day 09 Ghorepani to Tadapani(2600m)

You will wake up today at 4 am to watch the sunrise panorama from Punhill from where you have 360 view of almost all of the major mountains of Annapurna region. After the sunrise view you will head back to lodge for a breakfast and continue your journey towards Tadapani which would take you 5-6 hours to be there. Overnight at lodge.

Day 10 Tadapani to Sinuwa(2350m)

As you slowly descend you will see the beautiful view of upper madi valley and then as you ascend further you will go through the village of Chhomrong to reach Sinuwa which would take you 6-7 hours to reach there. Your guide will arrange a lodge for you to spend the night.

Day 11 Sinuwa to Deurali (3150m)

On your way to Deurali you will proceed first to Kuldi ghar for about 2-3 hours. From there onwards the trail is steep and rocky downhill and then it level out. You will walk by past the pasture of tomo and gorge at Barah and finally reach Deurali where you will spend the night.

Day 12 Sinuwa toABC (Annapurna Base Camp 4130m)

On your day 12 you will be going to ABC via Machhapuchhre base camp and Annapurna Sanctuary from where it is just 2 hours trek to reach Annapurna Base Camp. Overnight at lodge.

Day 13 ABC to Bamboo(2310m)

You will follow the same trail you took it yesterday towards to shore of river Modi river. For some time you will walk along the shore of river towards bamoo. Your guide will arrange a lodge.

Day 14 Bamboo to Chhomrong (2170m)

For the first few hours the trail isuphill until you reach Kuldighar and from there onwards it will be downhill all the way to Chhomrong village. Overnight at lodge.

Day 15 Chhomrong to Ghandruk(1970m)

So you are almost at the end of this marvelous trek but you have still got one more exciting place to be that is Ghandruk which is also the main town of Annapurna region. You can see the magnificent view of Annapurna South right from the doorstep of your lodge.
