But of course you have to go through rocky terrain uphill and downhill which wouldn’t push you to your limit. Since the time immemorial the Sherpa people have dwelled the landscapes of this region defying the harsh upbringing against all odds. In fact these are the person who represents Nepal as one of the most vibrant ethnic groups of Nepal. Researchers from the western world have done numerous and extensive study on these unique ethnic groups than any other in Nepal. Their simplicity, loyalty, hospitality and helpful nature has astound the people all over the world, which is something that you don’t find in the western society. It is because of the qualities of these people that have inspired many western and European intellectuals to write about them.
Sherpa have been a brand ambassador of Trekking and mountaineering industry in Nepal. They are the ones to establish this industry and bring it on to the mainstream economy of Nepal which almost accounts for more than 50 percent of total foreign revenue of Nepal. Since that first successful historical expedition in 1953 trekking and mountaineering industry have gone on to become multimillion dollar industry and all of the credit goes to the single ethnic group of Nepal “the Sherpa”
Like many other treks in khumbu region, the starting point of this trek remains same i.e. Lukla. Basically it’s a short trek which only includes 6 days of hike during your entire trek. The main goal of this trek is to get you as near as possible to see the marvelous beauty of the mountains avoiding the hazardous effects of altitude sickness. It is for those people who are not used to walking at high altitudes and yet are willing to discover the top of the world. The focal point of this trek would be Namche Bazar and Tengboche where you can see. This little downtown of khumbu region(Namche Bazar) is just situated at an altitude of 3440m. There are plenty of restaurants and lodges which has Chinese and continental dishes in their menus. Tengboche monastery, the oldest of them all also falls in this region. Those who are interested in Buddhists philosophy would really love to be there.
