Honey Hunting is one of the ancient income generating sources for the indigenous Gurung and Magar community. The trend of honey hunting from wild bee colonies still exist in the Bhujung and Pasgaon and many other places whereby the honey is collected from 300m vertiginous cliff using handmade ropes ladder and bamboo poles. The honey hunting in Bhujung area of Lamjung district is by far the tourism destination for the people who admire traditional technique used for honey harvesting and observing Gurung culture and customs alongside. The other areas are still not developed as a site for honey hunting for tourists.
Honey Harvesting or Honey Hunting tour can be done in Nepal witnessing the expert extracting the honey in a dangerous setting but in an adventurous way. It takes place twice in a year using the same tools that were used by predecessor in the past. There is increase in number of tourist showing keen interest in conventional honey hunting but limited number of tourist can get lucky to trek past the area while honey hunting.
