Almost all of the treks in Langtang region starts from the same point i.e. Syabrubesi which is just about 7 hours drive from Kathmandu valley. The trip starts from the lower region of the valley going through the numerous small villages, farmlands, vegetation, diverse eco-system, subtropical forest to the alpine climatic conditions.
Langtang valley trek begins with the drive along the Trisuli River north of Kathmandu, through Trasuli Bazaar; we reach to Dhunche and finally reach at Syabrubensi, a Sherpa village and farmlands of the people. Many villagers are originally from Tibet. Once this route was an important trading route with Tibet, therefore, most of the villagers and peoples here still are involved in trade. On the way of trekking, one can have a trek through Langtang National Park as it is located at the very edge of the Park. We also have chance to see some wild animals and birds. Among them are the monkeys, musk deer, Pika and the national bird of Nepal, the colorful Danphe. We continue our Trekking to Kyangjin Gompa (3,740 m), in between, we cross many rivers along a gorge and pass through oak and rhododendron forests and glacial moraine. After a overnight stay in Gompa, we visit the local yak cheese factory and have a view of the glaciers, which is also a gateway to Tibet and we return back to Syabru village and make a trip to Sing Gompa, a place where the holy lake Gosainkund is situated and we cross the Llaurebena Pass (4610m), and continue south leaving the Langtang region and reach at Helambu valley and subsequently at Chisapani and return back to Kathmandu.
The Langtang Valley is located only 90 km north of Kathmandu and is close to the border of Tibet. The valley is dominated by Langtang Lirung (7246m), the highest peak in the area. This is a superb introduction to trekking in Nepal among some of the most beautiful scenery in the whole country and fascinating unspoiled Sherpa villages.
You will trek through the magnificent forests of the Langtang Valley to the alpine meadows and yak pastures around Kyangjin Gompa. After an (optional) ascent of Kyangjin Ri (peak), where the 360 degree views of the Himalayan mountains are truly spectacular, you can retrace your route back down the valley to Syabru besi and then drive back to Kathmandu.
