Gosaikunda Circuit trek consists of both easy and difficult trail and can be categorized in a difficult one. Your trek starts with a road trip from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi and then trek to Kyanjin Gompa to Gonja la Pass to Gosaikunda and back to Kathmandu. On your trail you can encounter the sheer beauty of Gosaikunda lakes and the panoramic view of Langtang Lirung and its ranges. You will also explore Kyanjin Gompa the oldest monastery of this region. You will also come face to face with the Buddhists and Hindus culture and also the lifestyles of the people living in that region.
 

Overview of Gosaikunda Circuit Trek 

Gosaikunda circuit trek or in other words Gosaikunda Gonja la Trek will take you to the beautiful valley in Langtang and Helambu region of which the majority of trails falls in Langtang region. This region is bestowed by the best natural landscapes, valleys, lakes and wide varieties of flora and fauna with breathtaking view of Langtang Lirung and its ranges. This regions offer you the beautiful trails along with some major ethnic culture of Tamangs and Sherpas and their generous hospitality.

Gosaikunda is visited not just by many tourists but also a large number of Hindu devotees, because of its significant value in Hindus manuscript, visit in numbers. Gosaikunda is one of the highest lakes situated at an altitude of 4380m in rasuwa district. As prescribed in Hindus manuscript Gosaikunda is the home of Hindu deities Shiva and Gauri another name of Parvati. The major manuscript of Hindus such as Bhagavata Purana, Vishnu Purana, holy epics such as The Mahabhat and The Ramayana has high reverence towards this place and is considered as one of the holiest places of Hindus. During the month of August on a full moon night Hindus and Buddhists offer their utmost prayer and perform their various rituals as an act of devotion to the Gods of their respective religions.

Gosaikunda is one of the major point of Langtang and Helambu trail as the trail is shared between these two regions. This trial joins the famous Langtang regional trial with that of another famous Helambu region. Gosaikunda and Langtang trail is the unique combination of two different culture and religion which has learn to adjust side by side despite of the differences between them in terms of language, culture and ethnic background. Helambu region is dominated by indigenous Sherpa people which has a close ties with people of Tibetan origin. The language and culture of Sherpa people of Hemalbu region is almost the same to the people of Tibet and are considered by many, the land of their ancestors.

Trekking in these regions is not just for leisure purpose but can be also highly knowledgeable in many different ways. As you continue your way up to Langtang region you will get to see Kyangin Gompa, Cheese factory and lots of Sherpa and Tamangs villages which has still been untouched by the modern world. Perhaps the biggest and most important day of your trek would be when you trek through Gonja la Pass and the day you reach Gosaikunda lake. These two places on your trek will definitely give a goose bump, such is its natural beauty that you will be bound to surrender. 

Gosainkunda Circuit is one of middle level trekking. This trekking requires trekking experience and a good physical form. This trekking covers Langtang valley, the pretty Langtang valleys, Kyanjin Monastery, the majestic view of Langtang, Ganesh Himal, Lang sisa-Ri, Yabru Himal, Dorje Lakpa, Langup, Morimoto peak. This trekking route follows along Langtang River from Shyabrubesi. Gosainkund is a very popular and holly lake in Hinduism and Buddhism. If the lake remain calm, it can be seen the image of Lord Shiva in middle of the lake at bottom. People celebrate great festivals two times in a year. These festivals are very important in shamanism. There are other lakes more than 100 lakes. Among  them Bhairab Kund, Saraswati kund, Dhudh Kund, Nag Kund, Surya Kund, Bhut Kunda etc.

From Lauri Binayak pass Ganesh himal range and Langtang Lirung I and II, Manaslu, Nadgi Chuli, Nagdi Himal and Jugal Himal ragne can be seen as well. There are villages of mixed ethnics, Tamang villages and Sherpa villages. The route passes through forest and villages. Moreover Rhododendron blossom in March April surrounding and beautiful landscape.

Day 01 Arrival in Kathmandu

Our crew member will be there to pick you up from the airport and will drop you off to a hotel in Kathmandu. At evening your guide will come and meet you and give you brief information about your trip.

Day 02 Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1550m)

On you 2nd day you will embark on 145 km drive from Kathmandu which will take you for about 7 hours because of the narrow and badly maintained road condition. Your guide will arrange a lodge for you to spend the night.

Day 03 Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2380m)

Today you will cross Bhote Koshi river and follow the trail along the shore of Langtang Khola. As you hike up gradually you will gain the altitude going through some of the wonderful villages of Ramche and Bamboo to reach Lamahotel. Overnight at lodge.

Day 04 Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (3430m)

After your early nutritious breakfast you will continue your trek going through the dense forest towards Langtang village. As you walk through the trail you will cross a bridge and then descend into a valley to cross the stream, finally to reach Langtang village. Overnight at lodge.

Day 05 Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa (3870m)

You will start off early after the breakfast towards Kyanjin Gompa. You will gradually gain the altitude and start feeling the drop in oxygen level. Today will be a short day of trek as you will be at Kyanjin Gompa within 4-5 hours of trek.

Day 06 Exploration day at Gyanjin Gompa

Today will be exploring Kyanjin Gompa the oldest monastery of the region and know the spiritual importance of the monastery. Spending the day will also help to get acclimatize. Overnight at lodge.

Day 07 Gyanjin Gompa to Gonja la Phedi (4300m)

After your exploration day at Kyanjin Gompa you will continue your journey towards Gonja la phedi by crossing the Langtang river. It may taske you 5-6 hours to reach there. On your arrival you will be arranged a lodge to spend the night.

Day 08 Gonja la Phedi to Keldang(4250m) via Gonja la pass(5122m)

Today will be a long strenuous, difficult and the most interesting part of your journey as you will be doing Gonja la pass and reach the highest point of the trek. And you will continue your journey to keldang where you will spend the night.

Day 09 Keldang to Dukpu(4040m)

Today will be a longer day of trek which would probably take you about 6-7 hours. Todays trail will go through ridges and grassland with one hell of view of Langtang Lirung. Overnight at lodge.

Day 10 Dukpu to Tarkegyang(2590m)

On your day ten you will continue descending further along the same kind of trail. You will probably lose 1300m of altitude compared to the place you stayed previous night.

Day 11 Tarkegyang to Tharepati(3510m)

Today you will again ascend about 1000m before doing the laurebina pass the second one on your trek. It will be like the previous one going through the dense forest and crossing suspension bridges. Today will be the final preparation before you do laurebina pass. Overnight at lodge.

Day 12 Tharepati to Gosaikunda(4380m) via Laurebina pass(4610m)

The day has come to face once again the adventurous day of the trek. You will start very early before the sun rise. This is the second highest point of your trail after Gonja la. It will be a long and strenuous trek and will probably take 8-9 hours of time to reach Gosaikunda. On reaching there you probably want to go to bed after your long, exciting and difficult day. Overnight at lodge.

Day 13 Gosaikunda to SingGompa(3250m)

After the completion of two major passes Gonja la and laurebina you will be full of energy and excitement. Staying a night in Gosaikunda will spark a further joy in your trek. During your walk you will be enthralled by the view of Langtang Lirung, Ganesh HImal, Tibetan mountains and forest of oaks. Sing gompa is another monastery of high historic value.

Day 14 Sing Gompa to Dhunche(2030m) and drive to Kathmandu

This is the final day of your trek as you will only walk for half a day and then catch a bus that will take you to Kathmandu. By evening time you will be once again enjoying the modern luxuries after all the wilderness you have been through.

Day 15 Departure day

After exhilarating, enthralling and exciting journey your journey has finally come to an end. Our staff members will pick you up from the hotel and drop you off at the airport.
