Langtang Gosaikunda trek is a beautiful journey which goes through rich wildlife, lush green forest, diverse culture and religion and the mouth watering view of majestic Himalayas in Langtang and Helambu region. This trek can be categorized in a moderate one as for much part of the trek you will not face extreme altitudes. Like many other treks this one also starts from Syabrubesi “a tamang village” located in the bank of Bhote Koshi. And then the trail goes further to Kyanjin Gompa and little exploration Tserko Ri(5030m) form where one can get a 360 degree panoramic view of the mountains. The trail further move towards the serene Gosaikunda lake which has historical importance in religious and cultural aspects.

Langtang Gosaikunda trek takes you to some of the nature’s most provoking places. It is no secret that this region has always attracted tourists who flock every year in thousands to spend the most beautiful and memorable time of their life. The tourists who come here will pretty much want to come again at some point of their life; such is the power of attraction and the hospitality of people living in this region. Langtang Lirung(7234m) Tserko Ri(5030m), Gosaikunda lake, Kyanjin Gompa are some of major highlights of your  journey. Among them all Gosaikunda lake is the most interesting and the beautiful of them all because of its scenic beauty. Not just the tourists visit Gosaikunda Hindus and Buddhists devotees visit this place in greater number. Gosaikunda lake is highly revered place according to ancient Hindus and Buddhists manuscript. August id the month of highest receiver of Hindus and Buddhists devotees who come in extraordinary number to perform their holy rituals as a mark of long tradition that dates back in time.

Helambu is another region that has become an integral part of this trail simply because the trail is incomplete without it. Buddhists culture along with Hindus have always dominated the religious and cultural aspects on Nepal in general. Buddhism, mainly inspired by the ancient Tibetan culture, is the main cultrure and religion of this Helambu region. This region have somewhat been a centre of Tibetan Buddhists culture and lot of people come just to know and study the typical Tibetan Buddhists culture.

This extraordinarily beautiful trail which lies in Langtang and Helambu region is the combination of astounding beauty, the richness of culture, bio diversity and unassumingly friendly and hospitable nature of the ethnic people which altogether unites this place to make heaven right on earth.

Langtang Gosaikunda trek combines the remote and spectacular valley of Langtang, with the high mountain lakes at Gosainkund. Visit the beautiful Langtang National park and then trek to the end of the valley to view the wonderful mountains views. Following the Trisuli River north out of Kathmandu, we travel through Trisuli Bazaar and Dhunche to Syabrubensi, a Sherpa village located at the very edge of the Langtang National Park. We then swing east into the Langtang valley, crossing the river several times as we travel up along a gorge-like, lower section of the valley. We pass through oak and rhododendron forests and even cross glacial moraine on our way to the Tamang village of Langtang. 

A little further up the valley is Kyangin Gompa, where we stop overnight and sample the local yak cheese. We pass through Nubamatang, nestled in a hidden valley, on our way up to view the glaciers, which mark the gateway into Tibet. Backtracking, we travel through Syabru and Sing Gompa to a high plateau, where the sacred lake Gosainkund is located. Crossing the Llaurebena Pass (4610m), we continue south, leaving the Langtang region behind us as we travel through the Helambu valley to Gul Bhanjyang.

This trekking gives the trekker a remarkable and varied journey through the Langtang valley and onto the holy lakes of Gosiankund.  The Gosiankund lakes are considered holy by both Hindus and Buddhists alike and many Hindus make the pilgrimage to bathe in the lakes during the August full moon festival of Janai Purnima.The Langtang National Park covers an area of 1,170 km sq and includes 18 different ecosystems.  From lowland forests abundant with wildlife, to alpine meadows, pristine lakes, magnificent mountain views and a chance to sample the unique lifestyle of the local Tamang people, this is a truly memorable trek.

Day 01 Arrival in Kathmandu

Our staff members will be there to welcome you and will transfer you to your hotel. Your guide will visit you in the hotel for a brief explanation about your trek.

Day 02 Drive from Kathmandu to Syabbrubesi (1550m)

You will be driven from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi in a private transfer (bus or mini bus depending upon the number). You will travel on the road alongside Trishuli river. It may take you 6-7 hours to reach there. On your arrival your guide will arrange a lodge for you to spend the night.

Day 03 Syabrubesi to Lama hotel (2380m)

Finally today your trek starts by descending and crossing Bhote koshi river. You will then slowly ascend going through Ramche and Bamboo villages to catch up trail alongside Langtang river en route to Lama hotel. Your guide will arrange a room in lodge.

Day 04 Lama hotel to Mundu (3550m)

On your fourth day you will continue your trail towards Mundu which is just 30 minutes walking distance from Langtang village. You will go through Gumanechowk, Ghode tabela to reach there. Overnight at lodge.

Day 05 Mundu to Kyanjing Gompa (3870m)

Today the first thing you will be doing is to cross river Laja Khola and then climb up a moraine to reach a view point from where you can see majestic Langtang Lirung and its icefall. It will take you for about 5-6 hours to reach Kyanjing Gompa where you will be spending your 5th night.

Day 06 Kyanjing Gompa exploration and side trip to Tserko Ri (5030m)

After your early nutritious breakfast you will set off to explore Kyanjing Gompa monastery, the oldest in this region. After an interesting lesson of Buddhists philosophy you will then head straight towards Tserko Ri (5030m), the highest point of your trek. Once you reach the peak of Tserko Ri you can see the beautiful Langtang peak with a 360 degree view. You will stay there for a while and do some photo sessions and head back to Kyanjing Gompa to spend the night.

Day 07 Kyanjing Gompa to Lama Hotel (2380m)

Today you will descend down towards Lama Hotel with a constant view of towering mountains at your disposal. It would take you 5-6 hours to be at Lama Hotel where you will be spending the night.

Day 08 Lama Hotel Thulo Syabru (2235m)

On your 8th day you will first descend to cross a small river and then hike through the forest with pine and juniper trees all the way to Thulo Syabru. Within 5-6 hours you will be there at thulo Syabru. Overnight at lodge.

Day 09 Thulo Syabru to Shin Gompa (3330m)

You start your trek early after your breakfast on a fairly steep trail towards Shin Gompa. During your trial you will have acquaintance of Rhododendron, Hemlock and Oak trees as you walk by past forest with a scenic view of Langtang Lirung in distant. It is just 3-5 hours of trek to reach Shin Gompa. Overnight at lodge.

Day 10 Shin Gompa to Gosaikunda (4380m)

The most enthusiastic day of your trek has finally arrived as you walk uphill to reach the top of Laurebinayak from where you can see the splendid view of Ganesh Himal, Manaslu and Langtang and Tibetan plateau. As you go further walking on a rocky terrain you will see mesmerizing beauty of Gosaikunda lake. When you finally reach there you will feel heavenly bliss.

Day 11 Gosaikunda to Ghopte (3430m) via Laurebinayak Yak pass (4610m)

On day 11 you will leave Gosaikunda and its beauty behind passing by four small lakes towards Laurebinayak Yak Pass (4610m) with a constant view of Manaslu and Ganhesh Himal. You may see some yaks carrying goods as you walk through this pass. After 5-6 hours of trek you will be there in Ghopte to spend your 11th night.

Day 12 Ghopte to Malemchigaon (2560m)

You will trek downhill through the forest area and climb uphill going through dry river bed to reach Yakkharka, a small village surrounded by Rhododendron. As you walk ahead you will reach the village of Tharepati after walking by past the village and forest you reach Malemchigoan. Overnight at lodge.

Day 13 Malemchigoan to Tarkeghyang(2590m)

Today is the day you will enter the cultural capital of Helambu region with traditional villages and Tibetan Sherpa culture. It will probably take 6-7 hours to reach Tarkeghyang. Overnight at lodge.

Day 14 Tarkeghyang to Shermathang (2610m)

The trail goes around the wide valley end between Parachin and Gyangul villages. As you walk you will see a beautiful Hemalbu village for quite some time. You will be arranged a lodge on reaching Shermathang.
